Looking for an Apprenticeship or a full-time/part-time job?

Jobs search/vacancies:

When a company has a job vacancy they need to advertise it, otherwise nobody will know about the vacancy in the first place.  They might advertise online on websites like Indeed or Monster.  You often see jobs for smaller businesses in local newspapers, too, and small shops might decide to put an advert in their window.

Sometimes (especially in retail) it can be worth asking in a shop if there are any current vacancies.  You should always ask for the manager if you do this.

If you don’t have a computer you can use then Contact Warrington  has computer access to help you with your job search.  There are also advisers from the careers for young people team there, who can help you with your search.

Apprenticeships:

We keep a list of all available apprenticeships in Warrington on our website and update it regularly.  This is a great way to find local apprenticeships quickly.

There are a number of ways that you can search and apply for Apprenticeships but the main source of Apprenticeship vacancies is the National Apprenticeship website.  You’ll need an account on this site to apply for apprenticeships – if you need help one of our advisers can help you do this.

Don’t forget RPA

Did you know that you are now required to be in education or training until your 18th birthday, or until you have gained a level 3 qualification (whichever comes first)?  This is called raising the participant age (RPA) and is a legal requirement for everyone aged 16-18.

You can have a job instead of an apprenticeship if you like, but it must have accredited training as part of the job.
